Organizations rally together for the one in three Nebraskan households struggling with affording diapers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Local and national organizations have rallied together to give struggling families necessities.

Organizations say one in every three Nebraskan households can’t afford diapers in the present economy.

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, 78% of families who struggled with affording diapers or diaper insecurity held paying jobs in the past year.

During the Diaper Need Awareness week starting Sept. 14 through Sept. 20, people can help by donating diapers of all sizes to their local organizations helping meet that need. The Junior League of Lincoln stated they distributed over 500,000 diapers in the last seven years.

Local organizations helping the cause include People’s City Mission, Nebraska Diaper Bank and Educare Lincoln.
