Police have a person in custody after teenager was killed in northeast Lincoln shooting

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teenager is dead after a shooting in northeast Lincoln on Tuesday night, police say.

Officers were called to a disturbance involving teens near 47th Street and Cleveland Avenue around 7:20 p.m.

Lincoln police said some of the people involved ran off when officers arrived on the scene.

According to LPD, authorities were interviewing some of the teens when they heard a gunshot nearby.

Officers found a 19-year-old Lincoln woman with a gunshot wound at 46th Street and Madison Avenue and started CPR.

She was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police said the woman was involved in the original disturbance call.

Authorities have one person in custody and are interviewing multiple witnesses.

Investigators on the scene could be seen gathering evidence on the street and in a yard.
