Seward mayor creates ‘Give Like Dolly’ Day after legend’s recent passing

SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) — Seward Mayor Joshua Eickmeier has declared Sept. 25, 2026 as ‘Give Like Dolly’ Day in honor of the late Dolly Party.

The signed proclamation states the City of Seward recognizes Dolly Party “not only as a singer, songwriter and businesswoman, but also as a humanitarian and philanthropist.”

This declaration urges residents to support Seward Imagination Library, a local affiliate program to Dolly’s Imagination Library. The Seward Imagination Library mails free books to over 520 local children, according to the City of Seward.

The City of Seward says donations can be made to the library to further support young readers and help like Dolly.
