NSP makes two arrests after high-speed pursuit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 21, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) made two arrests after a pursuit.

A trooper witnessed a Lincoln Town Car traveling on Interstate 80 (I-80) near Lincoln at around 100 mph. The trooper attempted a traffic stop. The driver initially pulled over until the trooper contacted the driver. Then, the driver fled on I-80, causing a pursuit to ensue.

NSP troopers successfully deployed stop sticks, causing one tire to deflate. However, the vehicle continued to flee at high speeds.

When the driver reached York County, a trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention that brought the driver to a stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody.

During the pursuit, the driver threw a bag out of the window. Troopers recovered the bag and found 1.5 ounces of marijuana.

The driver, Alex Ignowski, 23, of Omaha, was arrested and lodged for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving during revocation, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Harley Huckeby, 25, of Omaha, was arrested and lodged for possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
