No. 1 Nebraska volleyball strikes out Missouri in rescheduled Wrigley Field match

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 1 Nebraska volleyball struck out Missouri in sweeping fashion Wednesday night at the Devaney Center, taking down the Tigers 25-10, 25-17, 25-14 to finish the non-conference slate 11-0.

This was the rescheduled match from Sept. 6, which was originally supposed to take place at Wrigley Field in Chicago. But due to court conditions that night, the two schools agreed to this match now taking place in Lincoln.

It was a proficient night for the Huskers on both sides of the ball, with Andi Jackson and Harper Murray each logging 10 kills to lead Big Red. Nebraska as a team hit .380 on the match, while holding Missouri (7-5) to a low percentage of 0.02 – a season-low for the Tigers.

A big reason for that was Nebraska’s presence near the net, as the team blocked back eight attempts, with Jackson contributing six of her own.

The Huskers begin Big Ten play this weekend with a pair of matches at home, welcoming in Rutgers Friday night and Ohio State Saturday night. First serve against the Scarlet Knights is at 7 p.m.
