No. 1 Nebraska volleyball begins Big Ten play with sweep of Rutgers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – In a packed Devaney Center on Friday night, No. 1 Nebraska remained unbeaten in a 25-21, 25-22, 25-15 sweep of Rutgers to begin Big Ten conference play.

The Huskers (12-0, 1-0 Big Ten) were led by Harper Murray (15 kills) and Andi Jackson (14 kills) each going for season-high termination totals, as Big Red hit .320 on the match. Nebraska held Rutgers (9-4, 0-1 Big Ten) to a hitting percentage of .137.

Three-time Big Ten setter of the year Bergen Reilly tallied 39 assists, two blocks and two kills.

Additionally, Jackson led the team in blocks once again with four. The team total on the night was seven.

This was the eighth-straight match played at John Cook Arena for the nation’s top team, and Saturday night will conclude the homestand, when Nebraska faces Ohio State at 8 p.m.
