Unidentified body found in Missouri River in Cass County
UNION, Neb. (KLKN) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is investigating after a body was found in the Missouri River.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 26, CCSO, Murray Fire and Rescue and the Cass County Emergency Management Agency responded to the Missouri River near mile marker 574 in Union.
They responded to a report of a possible person floating in the water.
Deputies located an unidentified deceased individual in the river upon arrival. The individual was recovered from the water and transferred to the Douglas County Crime Laboratory.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined. An autopsy has been scheduled for a later date.
The investigation is ongoing.
