Lincoln woman arrested for drugs, tries to dispose of more on floor of police cruiser

A Lincoln woman is behind bars after a traffic stop led to an arrest for drugs.
A Lincoln Police officer stopped a car near 27 & Q Street Wednesday afternoon for expired plates.
The driver, 42-year-old Amiyah Rempel, had a suspended license.
Officers searched her vehicle and found 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, syringes, glass pipes, a digital scale, and 2.4 grams of marijuana.
Rempel was arrested and taken to jail.
At jail, Rempel was taken out of the cruiser and officers discovered she tried to dispose of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine by throwing it on the floor in the back of the cruiser.
Once inside, an additional 1.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found in Rempel’s clothing.
She was cited for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and cited for driving under suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no valid registration.
