Ricketts and Osborn spark policy debate ahead of Trump’s Nebraska rally
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Sen. Pete Ricketts and independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn have spoken about each of their policies after news of President Donald Trump’s visit to Grand Island has spread.
Ricketts said Trump will highlight his successes for Nebraska, which he states are him removing tax on tips and overtime as well as providing benefits for seniors.
Ricketts also stated Trump will speak out against his opponent.
“We’re going to contrast my record of delivering for Nebraskans for a dozen years and that of my opponent who is telling Nebraskans one thing openly and then behind closed doors saying exactly the opposite,” Ricketts said.
Osborn said Ricketts has abandoned the principles Trump ran for president on.
“In 2024 the president campaigned on no forever wars, standing up to China, lowering the cost of groceries, and securing the border,” Osborn said. “I’m still running on that same platform two years later. Ricketts has abandoned those principles. He’s begging the party bosses to come save this election for him. Trump tweeted once about the skeletons in the Ricketts family’s closet, maybe those will come out at this rally.”
