Man stopped with 526 pounds of pot in Seward County sentenced

A California man who authorities say was stopped with more than 500 pounds of marijuana has been sentenced to prison.
United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that on February 26, 2019, Felice Michael Giorgetti, 39, of Huntington Beach, California, was was sentenced to 37 months for possession with intent to distribute 50 kilograms or more of marijuana – a charge to which Giorgetti pleaded guilty to in November of 2018.
A Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped a rental truck driven by Giorgetti on I-80 in Seward County in January of 2018.
Authorities said a search revealed 17 boxes of marijuana weighing approximately 526 pounds were found in the truck, along with Giorgetti and co-defendant Robert Rahon.
The pot’s estimated street value is $1.5 million.
Rahon has also entered a guilty plea in connection with this case.
His sentencing is scheduled for April.
