Sports Complex in Lincoln moves closer to reality

Lincoln’s increasing population means more sports teams are in need of a new space to play.
The new 78,500 square foot Lincoln Sports Complex will fulfill that as it plans on hosting practices, games and local and regional tournaments.
The project is located near Southwest 14th Place and West O Street.
It would include 8 basketball courts which would double as 12 volleyball courts. It will also include a 5,000 square foot training center.
It will be home to Supreme Court Basketball and Volleyball Club Nebraska. In addition, the Complex will host events and programs from the community such as Special Olympics, Cornhusker State Game events, corporate events, camps, youth groups, fitness classes and faith organizations.
The project is expected to be open later this year.
Channel 8 Eyewitness News will be covering the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.
