Conroy’s Bakery announces it will close this month

A popular Lincoln bakery has announced it is closing up shop.

Conroy’s Bakery, started in 1957 by Jim and Grace Conroy, announced on Facebook the shop will close on February 16.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to renew the lease at our current location,” the post said. “As of now, we have decided not to reopen a new store at this time.”

The post went on to thank customers for decades of patronage, as well as employees and others who helped the store stay open for more than six decades.

“We have made many great friendships over the years with just as many great stories to go with them,” the post said. “It takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice for all involved to keep a small family business going, and we are so grateful for all who have helped us along the journey.”
