Man arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot bakery employee

Lincoln Police said a man was arrested for robbery after he allegedly threatened to shoot a bakery employee over a loaf of bread.

LPD said officers responded to a bakery near 11th and G Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday on reports of a robbery.

An employee told police that a man, later identified as Jesse Wade, 38, ordered bread and claimed he paid for it.

Wade then reportedly tried to pay with imaginary money before dropping the bread and demanding “money” back.

Witnesses told police Wade claimed he had a gun and threatened to shoot the employee if he wasn’t given more bread.

Wade was taken into custody soon after.

Police say he had a marijuana pipe on him.

On top of robbery, Wade was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
