Officials investigating death of man transported from cement plant

Authorities are investigating after an Oklahoma man died after being transported to the hospital from a cement plant.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said emergency crews were dispatched to the Ash Grove Cement plant near Louisville around 4:30 Saturday afternoon on a call of an unresponsive male.

Plant employees attempted CPR before crews arrived and transported the man, identified as David Soban, 61, of Oklahoma, to Midlands hospital, according to CCSO.

Soban was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses told officials that Soban had just returned from a break when he collapsed and stopped breathing.

CCSO said the cause of death for Soban is currently unknown.

An autopsy has been ordered and officials are continuing to investigate.
