Crews responding to gas leak near 14th and R Street

Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews are on the scene of a gas leak near 14th and R Street. 

Crews were called to the scene of a “significant” hit to a gas line in the area around 11:15 a.m, outside the UNL Student Union.

Traffic is blocked off on R Street between 14th and 16th. 

A Channel 8 Eyewitness News reporter on scene said nobody has been evacuated at this time. 

A witness told Channel 8 Eyewitness News a construction crew was drilling in the area.
