Man pleads guilty to lesser charges in 2017 drug-related murder case

Of of two men connected to the beating death of a Lincoln man in 2017 has pleaded guilty. 

Court records show Dominic Aguirre, 37, pleaded guilty Friday to counts of first-degree assault and attempted kidnapping.

Aguirre, along with Paul Clark, were arrested on second-degree murder charges in connection to the death of Phillip Madlock. 

Investigators learned Aguirre and Clark had been searching for Madlock to collect on a debt for illicit narcotics.

Officials said Madlock was assaulted at multiple locations in Lincoln, and his body transported to a location outside of Lancaster County.

Each crime carries a penalty of 1-50 years in prison. 

The second-degree murder charge would have carried a life sentence.
