Fire causes almost $100K in damages to Denton property

A fire at a property near Denton caused nearly $100,000 in damages, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire started around 3:45 Wednesday morning at a property near 126th and West Van Dorn Street.
Sheriff Terry Wagner said the people who live there were awaken by an explosion, and found their detached garage on fire.
The fire caused around $94,000 in damages, including damage to a 2012 Chevy Traverse and other nearby vehicles, Wagner said.
The residents’ home was not damaged.
Fire crews from Malcom, Southwest and Pleasant Dale all responded.
The State Fire Marshall is investigating what caused the fire.
