UPDATE: LPD officer cited for DUI resigns

A Lincoln Police officer cited for driving under the influence has resigned, department officials said Monday.
Matthew Brodd struck a pole on the northwest corner of N 45th and Vine Street on December 2, police said.
Police said Brodd, who was off duty at the time of the accident, had a BAC of .173, and was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
Brodd was cited Monday for DUI, not wearing a seatbelt and speeding.
He served as a police officer for 21 years.
