Day after Christmas a huge day for stores

The day after Christmas is one of the busiest times of year.

People are returning gifts and doing even more shopping.

“Everybody is still kind of processing what they’ve received, what they’ve given, what they want to keep, what they want to exchange,” said Julie Lattimer, marketing director of SouthPointe Pavilions.  “And so we see a lot of…traffic that is a mixed part of all of that.”

Lattimer said many vendors are fully staffed to handle the rush.

She said shoppers are also seeing huge price declines, as much as 85 percent off on some items.

Customers are taking advantage of those.

“The set of golf clubs are really cheap, you know, we were looking at,” Jeremy Pracheil said.  “Then just some basketball shorts for my daughter, stuff like that.  So really good prices.”

Lattimer said they won’t have exact numbers for how much business stores are doing until the end of the month.
