Lincoln-Northeast Kiwanis serves Christmas dinner

For the sixth year in a row, the Lincoln-Northeast Kiwanis Club served a Christmas dinner at Matt Talbot’s Kitchen.

Around 25 members served about 100 people from 5:30 to 6:30 on Tuesday night.

“We went out and purchased all the products, we prepared the dinner, now we’re serving and we’ll clean up before it’s all over,” Jack Schinstock, chairman of Christmas at Matt Talbot, said.

The Kiwanis members said volunteering makes them feel good, but this is just what Christmas is about.

“It’s a nice way to give back. When it comes to Christmas, to me, this is what Christmas is all about… it’s giving some of your time and energy to help people who maybe don’t have as much as you do,” David Muff, president of Lincoln-Northeast Kiwanis, said.

To the people who have been volunteering for many years, there is no other way to spend Christmas than giving back to the community.
