Shoppers share Christmas memories

On Monday, we asked holiday shoppers at Gateway Mall to share some of their favorite Christmas memories.

The answers they gave showed that money can’t buy everything and that the simple things can go a long way.

“My favorite Christmas memory was probably when me and my brothers and my dad all went outside and made like a huge Christmas snowman,” Jahliya Sanders said.  “And then Christmas snow angels and then a snowball fight.”

“One year, we were at my cousin’s house,” Brandon Gallardo said.  “We were having a lot of fun and we stayed up like really late at night.  It was kind of fun.”

Those we talked to said that is what Christmas is really all about.

“It’s just a time to come together with your family and have some fun,” Aniya Seymore said.  “Celebrate the birth of Jesus.”

People with Radiant Church agreed.  They were handing out love buttons at the mall.

“It’s a powerful time,” Beverly Letourneau said.  “Just to make his love known — God loves us with everlasting love — so we’re talking about that.”
