The reason for the season

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lincoln held two Christmas Eve services Monday night.
For Haidyn Shubkagel, a fifth grader at Norris Intermediate School, going to church is what Christmas is about.
“It’s about celebrating Jesus’ birth and being with family and friends and being together,” Shubkagel said.
Being your family and friends is, of course, a huge part of the holidays too.
Haidyn said her favorite part of Christmas is spending time with her family.
We also talked to her 5-year-old brother, Sawyer, who had some insightful words on the meaning for Christmas.
“Christmas isn’t about getting, it’s actually about giving,” Sawyer Shubkagel said.
No kids at church said presents were the meaning of Christmas. They all said Jesus and being with family.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is located off of highway 2 and S 40th St.
Their Christmas service is at 9:00 on Tuesday morning.
