Man arrested for first-degree sexual assault of a child

A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a boy who was eight years-old at the time, according to court documents. 

In an arrest affidavit, investigators said the boy’s mother reported  55-year-old Edwin Johnson, sexually assaulted her son. 

The alleged assault occurred between August of 2015 and May of 2016 at a Lincoln apartment, according to officials. 

The boy, who is now 11 years-old, told his mom that Johnson touched him inappropriately in the bathroom, the report said. 

In a recorded phone call, Johnson admitted to the boy’s mother he was naked with the boy but denied sexual contact, according to the report.

If convicted, Johnson faces 20 years to life in prison.
