Hubbard family receives Magic Moment

17-year-old Cayden Hubbard was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2006. He had open brain surgery in February, and spent a big part of 2018 in hospitals.

Along with Cayden’s hospital visits, his father, Carter, had to have a kidney transplant in August.

The whole Hubbard family is looking forward to a new year.

“It’s been a long year, but we’re happy to have persevered through all the trials and tribulations this year, and to cap it off with something like this is really amazing,” recipient of Magic Moment, Carter Hubbard, said.

The Hubbards were nominated by Amy Christiansen. They met through the Team Jack Foundation.

Amy’s family received a Magic Moment in 2011, and it meant a lot, so she wanted to do the same for another family.

The family received Husker gear, tickets to a Husker basketball game, Lincoln Children’s Zoo passes, a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge and gas cards.
