Repairs yet to be made on Omaha apartment complex

OMAHA, Neb. – Work IS YET TO START ON AN Omaha APARTMENT COMPLEX that was EVACUATED four WEEKS AGO FOR several VIOLATIONS, INCLUDING MAGGOTS, BED BUGS, AND ELECTRICAL HAZARDS.

The LANDLORD SAYS HE HAS LINED UP CONTRACTORS TO MAKE THE REPAIRS, BUT BELIEVES THE CITY WILL ADD VIOLATIONS AFTER THE COMPLEX IS FIXED.

Omaha’s chief building inspector says that is not true.

The Yale Park apartments were home to more than 500 people, including 200 children who were mostly immigrants.

The first deadline to make repairs to the complex is at the end of October.
