Going below freezing Tuesday Night
Temperatures will drop through the overnight. A Freeze Warning is in effect for portions of southeast Nebraska, including Lancaster and Seward counties. It will be in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 9 a.m. Wednesday. An additional Freeze Warning may be issued for Wednesday night in to Thursday morning.
Low temperatures will drop to the middle to upper 20°s throughout southeast Nebraska. In the city of Lincoln, temperatures will likely drop to around 30°s by Wednesday morning. Temperatures should remain below freezing for several hours, 2-6 hours.
Skies will start sunny Wednesday morning, turning partly cloudy for the afternoon. Temperatures will remain below normal – normal high temperature is 66° – with highs in the lower to middle 50°s.
A weather system will come out of the Rockies Thursday, bringing a chance for showers Thursday evening in to Thursday night. Temperatures Thursday won’t be much warmer with high temperatures back in the middle 50°s.
We jump back in to the 60°s Friday and again Saturday. A passing shower will be possible Sunday morning as a warm front lifts through the state. Behind the warm front, skies will turning mostly sunny, winds will increase, and temperatures will jump in to the lower to middle 70°s.
