A Lincoln business makes care packages for homeless

You probably don’t think twice about buying a bottle of shampoo or toothpaste.

But not everyone can afford or has access to those items.

Fiserv, a company located in Lincoln near 14th and Old Cheney, put together hygiene kits with all the basic necessities for the homeless.

25 employees assembled nearly 400 kits this morning.

It’s part of their effort to give back to the less fortunate in the community.

Fiserv Senior Vice President Jamie Deterding said, “We live in the same community are some of the less fortunate people have so it’s our ability to give back to them as well as to the agencies that do such a great job supporting them.”

The kits will be handed out next week at the project homeless connect Lincoln event.

Fiserv has been assembling kits for the event for several years.
