Temperatures climb through the weekend

Clouds have been the rule Thursday afternoon and they will continue to cover the sky as we go through the overnight.  This will help keep temperatures warmer, compared to Thursday morning when temperatures dropped to the teens and 20°s.  Lincoln set a new record low temperature for the day, dropping to 23°.

Along with the clouds, I am going to keep a chance for an isolated shower in the forecast through the evening.  The chance for rain will be out of the area by 10 p.m. Thursday.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday.  However, it should be warmer than Thursday.  Temperatures should be able to climb in to the lower to middle 60°s by late afternoon.

A weak cold front will pass through the area Friday night/Saturday morning.  Winds will turn out of the north for Saturday, keeping temperatures a little below normal.  Highs will be in the lower 60°s. The normal high temperature in Lincoln is 67°.

A nice warm-up comes Sunday.  A warm front will pass through the area Sunday morning.  Along the front, a few showers may develop.  However, once it passes, skies should brighten, winds will increase, and temperatures will rise in to the 70°s.

The warm-up continues Monday ahead of an area of low pressure in the Rocky Mountains.  It will become windy, with winds gusting 40-50 mph out of the southwest, and temperatures will climb in to the lower to middle 80°s.
