Aubrey Trail will be evaluated before trial

Aubrey Trail underwent a competency evaluation hearing today in Saline County Court.

It was decided Trail will be evaluated by a psychiatrist to assess whether or not he is competent to stand trial.

His attorney Ben Murray said the motion was to make sure they were doing their due diligence.

Trail is accused in the murder of Sydney Loofe of Lincoln.

He’ll appear back in court December 5th for a status hearing.

His actual murder trial is set for next June. The state of Nebraska is seeking the death penalty in the case.
