Daughter of WWII vet serving as guardian on female vets’ flight

A flight honoring female veterans takes off Monday and one of the volunteers taking part in it is from Milford.
Susie Kreifel–Huber of Milford is serving as one of the guardians caring for the vets during the trip.
She’s the daughter of World War II veteran George Kreifel, who served in the Philippines and Okinawa.
She said she’s served on several of these trips. Her first was in 2008 when she took her dad to see his memorial.
Her dad passed in 2010, but she continues to be a guardian on these trips.
“I enjoy working with people and being a part of anything to help the veterans or make memories for them,” Kreifel-Huber said. “It’s all about the veterans.”
Susie said it’s important for these women vets to have a fun day and reminisce about their service because they played a strong role in all of the wars.
Channel 8’s own Megan Conway is going on the trip. We’ll have a report early next week.
