A big day for some nursing students.
The first class of the new college of nursing at u-n-l received their white coats today.
Hundreds of family members and friends were there to support the students.
"I will practice nursing as a student agreeing to uphold the trust faculty and society have placed in me."
Close to 80 students took the nightin-gale pledge at Willa Cather Hall..
The college has a new building on the main campus..
The students will continue their education towards earning their bachelor’s of science in nursing.
"Please wear your white coat and lamp pin with pride," said Rita Schmitz.
Taking the nightin-gale oath.. Means as a nurse you will be a strong advocate for the health and needs of your patients.
