UPDATE: Explosion at Lincoln apartment complex caused by stove, investigators say

Investigators say a stove is to blame for an explosion and fire at an apartment complex near 29th and N Street on August 22nd. 

Fire Investigator Tom Schmidt says residents had smelled gas in the building before, but never reported it. 

No one was injured, but the explosion left four residents without a home. 

Neighbors told Channel 8 Eyewitness News they felt the explosion from blocks away, with some saying it shook the foundations of their homes. 

The residence is considered a total loss, and it’s unclear if or when the residents will be able to return.
