The home, near 29th and N streets, had to be torn down so inspectors could safely get inside.
The investigation will include checking the gas line and looking at burn patterns.
Chief Inspector Bill Moody says, "Once we get it safe and get the over head obstructions out of the way, get our people inside and we’ll start getting after it and figure out what’s going on here."
Inspector Moody is hoping they get into the house as early as tomorrow morning.
Three of the four tenants were home at the time of the fire, but all made it out safely.
