StarTran was discussed at the City Council meeting Monday night.
The public was able to weigh in on the Mayor’s proposed budget for the bus line. They mayor has set aside $278,000 for it.
That budget includes expanded evening hours and midday service, with no fare increase for riders.
The public was welcome to give their thoughts.
"People who cannot afford or cannot drive a car. They have a right to public transportation and dignity, same as everyone else. They need a good, strong bus system to get to work, to get to doctors appointments," said DaNay Kalkowski, an attendee.
Council members are also looking at the mayor’s budget for roads.
It’s $65 million annually to maintain and repair streets, with no increase in wheel tax.
