12-Year-old Lincoln girl critically injured during home run derby

UPDATE: Nebraska Medicine says the 12-year-old Lincoln girl who was struck in the head during the College Home Run Derby at TD Ameritrade Park is still in critical condition. 

Omaha Police said Ashlyn Lutz of Lincoln was struck while she was walking on the concourse behind the outfield. OPD says the ball struck the girl in the chest or abdomen.

Officials say the girl lost consciousness, but was conscious, alert and breathing when she was transported to Nebraska Medicine.

OMAHA, Neb.- A girl was taken to the hospital after being hit with a baseball during College Home Run Derby at TD Ameritrade Park, Douglas County dispatch confirms. 

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m.

The girl was taken to trauma for treatment. Her condition there is not immediately available.
