LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man is accused of setting curtains inside a trailer on fire while several people were inside.

Lincoln police on Monday arrested 28-year-old Steven Hillman for first-degree arson.

Officers responded to the fire in the 2500 block of Theresa St. where a 38-year-old woman told them she’d had an argument with Hillman.

The woman reported that Hillman left the trailer after an argument, waked around the side before reaching into an open window and lighting the curtains on fire.

Police say the people inside the trailer ripped the curtains down and got the fire out, but not before the flames scorched part of the trailer.

Officers arrested Hillman after finding him near 17th and Sumner St. during an assault investigation in which he was the alleged victim.
