LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Syracuse community held a Tractor Poker Run to help raise money and show their support for the Eric Fass family.

Eric is a father of three, a husband and a farm owner, all on top of being the fire chief in Syracuse.

After a freak accident, hundreds came to the benefit to support his family, participating in silent auctions and donating at will for the bbq dinners.

Christa says people from other counties have been showing love for Fass.

“My goal from the beginning was a couple thousand,” said Christa Reisdoff,” organizer. “We surpassed that within the first couple of days before planning anything it’s going to be I don’t know greater than 50,000.”

They prepared food for 1000 people but said they were anticipating running out because so many people showed up to support, continuing to surpass all of the fundraiser goals in various ways.

Fass’s CaringBridge account says he continues to get stronger everyday as he recovers at Madonna.
