7-year-old girl uses allowance money to make care package for firefighters

A seven-year-old girl used her entire year’s allowance to give a special gift to a local fire station.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A seven-year-old girl used her year’s allowance to give a special gift to a local fire station.

Arcadia Thomas-Dailey wants to be a firefighter when she grows up. When her elementary school held a Random Acts of Kindness week, she decided that she wanted to so something special for her heroes at Fire Station 5.

So Arcadia asked her mother, Britany, if she could use her year’s allowance to put together a care package for them.

“She just told me, she said, ‘Mommy, I want to be a hero like them one day, I want to save lives like them!'” Britany said.

“They deserve more than one thing,” Arcadia said. “They deserve a lot of kindness. More than just one act of kindness. Like more. And I want to be a hero just like them!”

Fire Station 5 received the care package and left a ‘Thank You’ message for the future firefighter.

“Arcadia! Station 5! We’d like to thank you for your care package. We heard you wanted to be a firefighter and we look forward to seeing you in the future!”

Lincoln Fire and Rescue says they will be inviting Arcadia to a fire station for a visit.

Britany tells Channel 8 that Arcadia is “over the moon with excitement to be able to meet a real life firefighter.”
