LPD arrests Lincoln man for sexually assaulting child

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested a 45-year-old man after investigators determined he had sexually assaulted a child.
An 11-year-old student told a school counselor a former family friend had sexually assaulted them.
The school counselor notified Lincoln Police, and the Special Victims Unit began to investigate and conduct interviews.
The Special Victims Unit learned that Tony Dao had sexually assaulted the student on multiple occasions 2 years prior.
Lincoln Police developed probable cause and took Dao into custody on Tuesday. Lincoln Police arrested Dao for 1st-degree sexual assault of a child and felony child abuse.
