LPD: String of burglaries involving two vape shops connected
Police received two burglary calls at Trek CBD and Kur CBD vape shops, police found both to be connected.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police referred a 15-year-old male after he burglarized two different vape shops and vehicles in a south Lincoln neighborhood.
Police received the first burglary call on Wednesday at Trek CBD at 505 N. 27th St. on an alarm. Police found hemp products stolen from the business.
On Thursday around 5 a.m., Police received a call to Kur CBD and Vape at 4230 S. 33rd St. on an alarm. Police found vape products stolen from the business.
Store owners gave police security video to review.
Around 8 a.m., police got a call to Southwood and Highway 2 on reports of larcenies from vehicles. Victims found credit/debit cards, keys, wallets, and loose change missing from their vehicles.
Around 10 a.m., police followed up on a missing juvenile and contacted a 15-year-old male in the 300 block of Gaslight Ln.
An officer recognized the 15-year-old by his clothing from the security footage from Trek CBD.
Police got permission from the male’s parents to search the home and found stolen property from the vape shops and several credit/debit cards from the larcenies.
Police referred the 15-year-old for two counts of burglary and felony criminal possession of 4 or more financial transaction devices.
