A mix of sun and clouds on Monday, but still dry

Sunday was another gem of a day! Southeast Nebraska saw mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low-50s.

High clouds begin to approach on Sunday evening, so we’re forecasting mostly clear to partly cloudy skies on Sunday night. While clouds generally have a warming effect in the nighttime hours, temperatures should still be able to drop into the mid-20s in Lincoln.

Sunday Night Forecast

Aside from a few high clouds and winds being a bit less breezy, Monday’s weather will be almost identical to that of Sunday. We’ll be dry on Monday with high temperatures making it into the 50s yet again.

Any clouds will likely be “thickest” in the morning hours. As the day progresses, the high clouds gradually thin out and push east, leaving us mostly clear by Monday evening.

Sunday Forecast

The warmest day of the week appears to be on Tuesday where highs should reach the middle-60s. It’ll be a great day outdoors as skies should be generally cloud-free.

Our next disturbance arrives on Wednesday. At this point, the disturbance only appears to bring us some cloud cover. We’re looking too dry in the low levels of the atmosphere to support any precipitation on Wednesday. In a “worst” case scenario (if you’re seeking drier weather), we’d see an isolated sprinkle or two – but I’m not optimistic about that.

As of now, most computer model guidance is not hopeful about us seeing any meaningful rainfall through Thanksgiving.

Rainfall Potential - Through Thanksgiving

Wednesday’s disturbance passes on Thursday morning. As a result, this week’s coolest weather is reserved for Thanksgiving where highs will likely top out in the upper-30s to low-40s.
