Lincoln looks to improve rundown roads

In April of 2015, Lincoln residents voted to pass the 1/4-cent sales tax; meaning the city could could increase sale tax by .25% to support public safety projects, which includes road repairs.

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities officials commented that this new funding can help them to ramp up road work efforts. They estimate this funding will last for the next six years.

The Advisory Committee on Transportation (ACT) distributed an electronic survey in September and October of 2019 so the public could weigh in on where to focus these new funds. The results show the largest area of concern is in central Lincoln.

ACT will be holding a public hearing Monday, Nov. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the County-City Building.
