LLCHD reports 350th COVID-19 death

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County reported one COVID-19 death on Monday, bringing the total to 350 since the pandemic began.

LLCHD reported the death of a man in his 70s who was hospitalized and unvaccinated.

A total of 127 COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday, 359 cases were reported over the weekend.

In Lancaster County, 123 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 73 from Lancaster County and 50 from other communities. A total of 22 patients are on ventilators.

LLCHD administered 219,888 first doses of the vaccine and 204,415 second doses. Lancaster County is now 64.1% fully vaccinated. LLCHD says they’re focusing on vaccinating 75% of Lancaster County.

Last week, Health Director Pat Lopez announced the decision to end the mask mandate in Lancaster County.

The COVID-19 Risk Dial currently sits at elevated orange, indicating a high risk of COVID-19 spread and impact in the community.
