A GoFundMe for a wounded officer breaks $70K
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Tuesday, just before 1 p.m., Mario Herrera’s, an LPD investigator wounded on duty, official GoFundMe page broke 70,000 dollars within three days.
Herrera was shot in the abdomen when serving an arrest warrant to 17-year-old Felipe Vazquez for second-degree assault. Since the community has rallied around Herrera and his family to provide monetary and blood donations, as well as words of support. A movement that has truly gone worldwide as Herrera’s family said they’ve been hearing from groups in Israel who have been praying for them.
Currently, the official GoFundMe page for the family has surpassed 71,500 dollars.
