A Lincoln family is spreading joy during the quarantines using one yard card at a time.

“We try to organize them to where they can appreciate their card,” says Sarah Sasse–Kildow, franchiser of Card Your Yard in Lincoln. “There’s no hassle, no contact, and just fun for them to enjoy.”
Sarah recently took over the business for a friend, not knowing within weeks it would grow to be a needed way to help the community celebrate life events.

“So March and April we did more in the last month and a half than we have than what was done in 2019,” said Sasse–Kildow. “We’ve probably done over 250 orders in the last 45 days.”
Sarah takes orders over the phone and encourages clients not to touch the signs. But customers can take photos near them or use them to send inspiring messages to those stuck inside.
Sarah adds the family does the cards together which has been fun for her daughter.
“I just like getting to go out and stick the signs because they’re just so colorful and I like making people happy,” says Lila Sasse–Kildow.
Sarah says the emotions she gets from clients makes all the long hours worth it.

“In Springtime there are so many things to celebrate, whether it’s graduations or just the excitement or energy that spring brings along with it, said Sasse–Kildow. “So the fact that we get to be a part of that and help families celebrate those key milestones has been really great.”
