Active pattern Thu-Sun. Heavy rain possible

An omega block is what is responsible for our persistent cloud cover, notice it’s in the shape of the greek letter Omega.   As a trough of low pressure slowly moves out of the Rockies over the next few days, our upper level winds will turn to the south.  Eventually this will draw quite a bit of moisture northward and lead to heavy rain to our west.  Eventually, some of that moisture will ride eastward into Eastern Nebraska.  Humidity levels will increase significantly by the weekend too.  As we warm up into the 80s , unstable air will blanket the area and strong to severe storms are still looking possible over the holiday weekend.  If you are outside please keep up to date on the forecast especially Saturday into Saturday night.
