Aircraft engine failure prompts emergency landing in a field near Blair Executive Airport

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A small plane had to make an emergency landing in a field near the Blair Executive Airport on Wednesday.

Just after 11:30 a.m., several first responders were sent to the south side of the airport following the report of a plane crash.

When first responders arrived, they found a small, single-engine aircraft in a field south of the runway.

According to the City of Blair, the plane had one occupant, who was not injured.

Investigators said the aircraft may have experienced an engine failure, and the pilot made an emergency landing in a field.

The incident remains under investigation by the Blair Police Department and the Federal Aviation Commission.
