Taya Kyle was a featured speaker on October 14th, 2021 at Bryan Health's Mental Illness Awareness Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Taya Kyle, widow of Chris Kyle, was a featured speaker on Thursday, October 14th for Bryan Health’s Mental Illness Awareness Week.

Chris Kyle was a Navy Seal, serving 4 tours of duty in Iraq.  Upon his return Chris wrote a book titled, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.  In 2014 his life became the inspiration for the film, American Sniper.

Before the film was released, Chris was shot and killed at shooting range in Texas, leaving behind Taya and their two children.

Taya’s presentation, titled American Wife- Taya Kyle: A Story of Resilience, Courage & Finding Purpose, shared a compelling story of family, faith, freedom, and humor. Taya shared her experience fighting through one of life’s most difficult situations, losing a loved one, to emerge an even stronger individual.
