Andrew Sherman named athletic director at Lincoln Southwest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Varsity football coach Andrew Sherman is taking over as Lincoln Southwest’s athletic director.

Sherman, who has served as the Hawks’ head coach since 2015, was named as the school’s next athletic director on Friday.

He will begin his new duties on July 1 when current athletic director, Mark Armstrong, retires after 37 years in education.

Sherman joined LSW in 2002, serving as a coach for various sports and a PE teacher.

Lincoln Southwest will now search for a new head coach for its varsity football program.

Last season, the Hawks finished 8-3 after losing to Omaha Westside in the state quarterfinals.
