Another big grass fire in central Nebraska spreads dangerously close to structures

Crews spent hours battling the blaze overnight

GOTHENBURG, Neb. (KLKN) — Crews battled a big grass fire in Dawson County overnight.

Video and images shared by the Gothenburg Fire Department show the blaze spreading about three miles east of town.

The fire broke out just after 9 p.m.

Despite how close flames got to structures in the area, authorities tell us they haven’t received any reports of damage or injuries.

This fire took around two hours to put out.

No word just yet on how it started.
